It’s a question that has been asked by many of this year’s entrants that today the Absa Cape Epic answered in a notice sent to all 2020 entrants ensuring a guaranteed Absa Cape Epic entry that can be used once in either of the 2021, 2022 or 2023 races. Teams that paid the full entry fee in 2020 will also receive a Team Coupon that can be used to offset part of the cost of the standard entry fee in the applicable subsequent years as elected. The Coupon values are quite significant: International Team Coupon = USD 3 150 South African Team Coupon = ZAR 44 500. The standard entry fee for the 2021 Absa Cape Epic is discounted by 25% for all teams (not only 2020 teams) that register and pay before 15 June 2020. These early bird entries will open on 19 May 2020.
2020 teams must confirm their participation in the 2021 race before 30 April 2020. The primary rider of each registered 2020 team will receive an emailed invitation on 21 April 2020 to register once we have loaded all coupons to the team and rider profiles. (The primary rider of each team is the rider that was first registered on the entry for 2020.)
Upon acceptance of this invitation to register, the team coupon is considered redeemed. In order to qualify for the reduced 2021 entry fee, riders must pay the outstanding balance before 15 June 2020. Riders that accept the invitation but fail to pay the outstanding team balance before 30 September 2020 will forfeit their entry and team coupon.
