Detour Trails presents Bike & Battle SAFARI taking place on Isibindi Eco Reserve in the Anglo Zulu Battlefields, KwaZulu Natal on 18th-21st March 2016, a 4 day MTB adventure for everyone.
Detour Trails is proud to present the next in the series of the Bike & Battle adventures, to Isibindi Eco Reserve. The Bike & Battle SAFARI is another unique active leisure adventure set to take place in the heart of the KZN Anglo Zulu Battlefields. The Bike & Battle SAFARI is designed to give all riders a chance to experience the beautiful natural trails of the area while soaking in the rich history of conflict that helped shape our country. With a maximum of 100 participants, it ensures a small and intimate feel where the emphasis is on affordability and comfort. With 3 accommodation options ranging from BYO tent & set up camp to one of the 30 Safari tented Glamping options or for people who would rather not camp, Isibindi’s private lodge offers luxury accommodation. The camp village will have all the necessary facilities, great food prepared by our bush chef and plenty of beer to quench your thirst. Guests will be kept enthralled by the beautiful trail riding and daily talks by raconteurs. The format follows 4 days and 3 nights with 2 different route options to choose each day, a shorter, easier route or a longer, more technical route. Each ride will be a circular ride finishing back at the camp village where riders will have time to shower and grab some lunch before making their way to the battlefields and the talks for the day. Non-riders and supporters are encouraged to join in the activities and entertainment, making it an experience for everyone. Children aged 10 and up are welcome to join the adventure. There will be a night ride and a few other surprises thrown in for good measure.

“In a move away from the big mtb stage races, we’ve created something quite special with the Bike and Battle series. A real mountain bike adventure with the advantage of small numbers, a great history lesson and a variety of accommodation to suite every budget” says Rohan Surridge, the event organizer.
