Enter the Hopefield MTB this August

Get pumped for this year’s challenging but charming MTB race through the fynbos around the West Coast town of Hopefield. Your calves will be burning as you crank your way through a scenic route in the 2014 Hopefield MTB Event on Saturday, 30 August.

Now in its second year, the MTB race will be wheeling its way through the scenic settlement of Hopefield. Entries for the 74km, 50km and 13km routes are limited to 500 and registration takes places from Wednesday, 27 August 2014, up until the morning of the race.

The route will start and end at the Hopefield Sports Field and take cyclists along a railway, through picturesque farmland and wheat fields, and through the famed fynbos fields which produce the flora for the annual Wild Flower Show. For the more adventurous, the 50km and 74km race routes includes a river crossing and the newly built stretch of singletrack. Built on clay mounds, the 3.2km singletrack is highly technical, with a series of switchbacks and a drop-off.

Although there will no prizes for podium positions, all participants to cross the finish line will receive a medal. What’s more, there’ll be plenty of lucky draw prizes – including an overnight stay for two at the amazing Thali Thali Game Lodge!
