With a host of distances or stage race options on offer the Nedbank Save The Rhino MTB must be one of the most all-encompassing events on the South African MTB Calendar.

Taking place at the Mabalingwe Game Reserve from the 26th to the 28th of April riders will be treated to big five game viewing from their bikes. The three day stage race takes on a manageable total distance of 187km with only 2 824m of climbing, which works out to an average of only 950m per day.

If a three day stage race isn’t you thing, you can enter the two day race, which takes on the 67km and 62km routes of stage one and two of the three day ride. Or enter one of the three distance options on the Saturday; you’ve got 10km, 30km and 67km to choose from.

The route makes use of animal trails and jeep tracks through the Mabalingwe Game Reserve and you’ll see lion, buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, elephant, rooibok, eland, rhino and many more animals en route. The routes will go into river valleys and up onto the plateau while the animals are watching you. Nature Conservation guides will be strategically placed on the route to ensure rider safety.

Part of your entry fees will go to the “save the rhino” fund.
