Father and son duo, Alec and Jamie Riddle (Port Elizabeth) are looking forward to making their XTERRA debut on Thursday, 10 July 2014 in Knysna where they’ll take on the Totalsports XTERRA Full Pezula presented by REHIDRAT® SPORT and the Totalsports XTERRA Lite Pezula presented by REHIDRAT® SPORT respectively.
A 2011 World Half Ironman gold medallist, Riddle is always up for a challenge. “My children are quite sporty so the Knysna Festival is a great option for us as a family,” says Riddle, who will be taking part in the Pick ‘n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival Big 5 Sports Challenge. “I have only ever been a spectator at XTERRA, watching some of the greats like Conrad Stoltz, Dan Hugo, Stuart Marais and Kevin Evans. For me the toughest part will be the bike section. I am very much a novice on a mountain bike. Hopefully I will have some legs for the second run. I will need them as it’s quite a daunting climb if memory serves me well. I am looking forward to a fun filled, sporty time with my family”.
“I got a brand new bicycle for my birthday and look forward to trying it out at the Totalsports XTERRA Lite,” says Jamie. “This will be my first mountain bike event ever, so just staying on my bike will be my first challenge. My dad and I once watched Conrad Stoltz in action. The event looks very tough. I am just looking forward to having fun”.

Totalsports XTERRA Lite and Full entrants can look forward to stocking up on energy at the much loved Bokomo Breakfast Zone the morning of the XTERRA at Pezula Field of Dreams, while tired Warriors can regain their strength in the REHIDRAT® Zone, or spend time with family and friends in the Fedhealth Family Zone and the ISUZU Chill Zone.
All Totalsports XTERRA Pezula entrants will receive one double ticket to the XTERRA Party brought to you by Windhoek. Tickets need to be collected from Race Office on race day
