The dates have been announced for the Gauteng leg of the One Movement Schools XCE Series. The Western Cape and KZN legs of the series produced increasingly competitive and high paced racing as the schools adapted to the cross country eliminator format.
The Western Cape leg was won by Hoérskool DF Malan with Manie Lubbe emerging as the U19 rider to beat. In KZN, Caldon Petit secured the U19 series title and in so doing helped Northwood to the top step of the School’s podium. It’ll be interesting to see the future racing talents of Gauteng showing off their skills in their school colours in July and August.
The organising team have just returned from their route reccies and have told Full Sus that the host schools and riders they spoke to are rearing to go. The dates have been arranged so that unlike in the KZN and Western Cape series the events won’t be clashing with big local races.
Entries are open on the One Movement website and R100 will get you entries into all three events. Here are the event dates and venues:
27 July Sutherland High School, Centurion
3 August Northern Farm, Diepsloot
10 August St Johns College, Houghton
