Paarl is celebrating the 2015 harvest in spectacular style with the OmmiBerg ‘Round the Rock’ festival on Saturday, 7 March.  Participating members of the Paarl Wine Route will be hosting a jam-packed programme featuring young wine tastings, harvest activities, special entertainment for kids and wine promotions.

The route mostly runs through open veld and vineyards with a short distance on district road.   The 36km route sets out with the 16km, but then follows a few long, gradual climbs with the most southern part of the route sporting views over the Durbanville farms and Table Mountain.

Registration opens at 07h00 and the starting times are 08h15 for long distance and 08h30 for shorter distance. Entry fees are R130 for the 15km and R150 for the 35km with a R20 discount for tag holders.   Timing will be done by Amarider Trail Tag and results will be available on www.dirtopia.co.za.   Lucky draw prizes include a selection of Perdeberg wines as well as a Giant Simple Single bike.
