The organisers of the World’s largest XTERRA off-road triathlon, the Fedhealth XTERRA Grabouw, are proud to announce that the Prize Purse for the South African Championship has been increased to a whopping R154 000.
Taking place on Saturday, 25 and Sunday, 26 February 2017 respectively, both the Fedhealth XTERRA Full and Lite races will offer prize money to top finishers in the open individual men’s and women’s categories.
According to Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports, a podium position at XTERRA is not an easy feat. “We are therefore extremely proud to be able to reward these inspirational athletes for their dedication to the sport,” says Meyer. “The top five finishers in the XTERRA Full open men’s and women’s races will receive prize money, with the first place winners each taking home R30 000. We are also very excited to offer prize money to the first three finishers in the XTERRA Lite open men’s and women’s categories. We trust that the increased prize purse will be the source of even more exciting racing on the day. We would like to invite families and friends to join in on the action. Come experience the XTERRA vibe at its best.”
Forming part of the XTERRA World Tour, athletes taking part in the Fedhealth XTERRA Grabouw stand a chance to qualify for the XTERRA World Championship that will take place in Maui later in the year.
