Inter School Eliminator Series – Round 1 Recap

The Western Cape Inter School XCE (Cross Country Eliminator) series rolled into action on the Sunday the 23rd of February at Bishops Diocesan College.2

The first race of this exciting new series featured 64 riders from 12 schools racing in three age group categories. The Bishops 1.2km course took in 900m of brand new single track and a sprint finish across the school fields.

The racing proved that there is some great MTB talent in the local schools and with a concerted effort for event organisers and schools it is very likely that the schools will become a talent conveyor belt for mountain biking as they are for rugby and cricket.

The only disappointment at the Bishops leg was that only three girls entered to race, but ladies entries are already up 100% for the second leg at Paul Roos Gymnasium on the 2nd of March. And girls if you’d like to get involved in this exciting racing and stand a chance to win great prizes all you need to do is enter online at www.onemovement.co.za.
