Junior Eliminator Series

The Junior Eliminator Series for 2015 came to an end when the final raffle draw was done for a Trek Superfly FS 29er valued at R75 000. Everyone of the 322 entrants from 79 schools including 5 development teams who participated in the series which spread across Western Cape, KwaZulu Natal and Gauteng stood a chance to win. Unfortunately there could only be one winner – Alexander Schliemann from Paul Roos Gymnasium rolled away on a brand new bike smiling from ear to ear!

Over the course of nine events a massive amount of over R270 000 worth of product and prize money was distributed across all the divisions as well as raffle draws at each event – giving everybody an opportunity to walk away with some great merchandise.

Riders were challenged by nine unique courses which varied to test skills, power and stamina as well as tactics as when to launch the attack to take the victory and advance through to the next round. Spectators were kept entertained by some great elbow to elbow racing as riders charged around the courses in hope of standing on the top step of the podium.

In addition to the Overall Winning Team trophy, Enjoy Fitness added R10 000 in custom cycling kit for the team to order school branded cycling gear and Rayne Cameras gave an action camera valued at R2500 to film their adventures. Paul Roos Gymnasium stormed to victory in the Western Cape series, Northwood Boys High School successfully defended their title in KwaZulu Natal and Sutherland High School held off some tight competition to reign victorious in Gauteng!

A very big thank you needs to be made to our sponsors for their gracious contribution and support in making the series possible: Trek Bikes, Fox Racing, Enjoy Fitness, Skullcandy, OGIO and Rayne Camera.

2016 is already in the planning process and the team at OneMovement look forward to releasing the dates and venues soon. The series will be geared towards testing riders in the skills they need to develop in order to take on the other MTB disciplines and give new riders a taste of competition.
