In the October issue of Full Sus we offered MTB Clubs around the country the platform to promote their club rides. The first club to take us up on the offer is the Dilapidated Old Cronies with a touch of Honey, or DOC for short, from Rietvlei south of Jozi.
Here’s what the DOC are all about…

A little History on our Group
January 2013, 6 over weight and Dilapidated grumpy adults with sore asses started to venture beyond the grounds of Rietvlei.
As we ventured further down the dusty roads we started to pick up strays that were roaming our turf, our little gang has grown from the measly 6 to a whopping 200+. The gang started to lose weight, some by training in secret while others even employed personal trainers. This was getting C for serious. Then some ladies joined our group and we had to change the name, so that’s where the touch of Honey came in.
What has made us so successful, well I’m still trying to work that out but in the back of my mind I know that it’s the awesome bunch of highly Entertaining and Talented riders that grind these dusty roads with us every weekend. You guys have made our gang a success and all I can say is THANK YOU!
We have all been asked at some time what DOC stands for, and the name has changed according to who is asking the question. So here are some of the acronyms: Doctors on call, Dig our Chicks, Do our chicks, Dikes on cycles, Demons on Crack, Dumb old cronies and Dik Okes Club are just some of them – you’re welcome to add your own…
