On Saturday, 21st of November 2015, the 9th annual Rust de Winter Mountain Bike Challenge will again be held in the scenic area of Rust de Winter situated 80km north of Pretoria and adjacent to the new Dinokeng Game Reserve.
This race has progressed from small beginnings to become a major challenge that is now regarded by serious participants as a “MUST DO” on the calendar.
It commences from the beautiful camp site of the 4×4 ATV Club. Competitors are welcome to stay over in the camp before and after the challenge at only R60.00 per person per night. It’s fully equipped with ablution facilities, swimming pool and children’s playground.
From the camp the routes find their ways to the more remote areas and mountainess terrain usually only used by 4×4 vehicles. There are 3 routes options: 65km at R180.00, 35km at R150.00 and 12km at R60.00. Water/coke points will be available along the way at regular intervals.
Entries can be made in advance through Cycle Events (www.cycleevents.co.za) or late entries will be accepted on the race day at the venue.
All finishes will receive medals and the total prize money for all categories amounts to R15 000.
