For the month of August Specialized Bicycles Africa, in association with Oakley, are going all out in creating a strawberry jam packed month for all female riders. The goal during women’s month is to celebrate, teach and embrace all aspects of women’s riding from tech classes and skills clinics to cocktail parties.
What, where, how?
All Tech Tuesday classes and Women’s Wednesday Rides will be held through our retailers. The Tech Tuesday evening classes are free of charge and there will be hands on demonstrations on how to deal with technical issues such as fixing a puncture, fixing a chain, basic bike maintenance and set-up.
Women’s Wednesday Rides will give the ladies a chance to ride safely in a group while meeting like-minded women who share their passion for riding. There will be snacks after these events at the store, so stick around and mingle if you can. The stores will specify times and other details on their social platforms.
Every weekend across the country Jo Dobinson from Biking In The Bosch will be hosting skills clinics. There will be beginner’s classes in the morning and intermediate classes in the afternoon. Each class is 3hrs long at the cost of R300.
Skills Clinic dates:
8-9 August: Buffelsdrift on Saturday and Heia Safari on Sunday
15-16 August: Giba Gorge
22-23 August: Bloemendal

But wait, there’s more!

Snacks and a delicious glass of Meerendal wine will be supplied. There will also be a prize for the best pimped bike as well as a lucky draw and auction to raise funds for the songo.info girls program.

Finally, we end it all off with a bang!
We will hold two Specialized Grand Finales, one at Concept Cyclery Cedar Square on the 28 August and the second at Revolution Cycles in Cape Town on the 29 August. These events are the ultimate ladies nights. We will have fancy cocktails, a fashion show featuring the lovely Movepretty range, photo booth and a delicious array of nibbles. But the most exciting part of the evening will be the lucky draw. Just by attending one of these events you stand a chance of becoming a Specialized Women’s Ambassador for 2016!
Drinks, snacks and incredible goodie bags will be provided at most of these events thanks to our awesome sponsors.
