In early spring, Dryland brought you the incredible story of South Africa’s natural riches, with the inaugural edition of the Tour of Homewood imprinting the splendour and diversity of the land forever on the minds of riders from far and wide. The famed Fancourt estate played host to the event that brought mountain biking and golf together.
The Route
The route that promised so much did not disappoint – a diversity that never seized, exposing riders to never before ridden tracks, coastal forests and the majesty of Jonkersberg. Highlights included cresting the mighty Outeniqua’s over the Montagu pass into the Karoo, freshly cut single-track and a meander through the Herold vines was on offer.
The focus will stay with a diverse exclusive route, just adding an enhanced riding experience through shorter stages en more single track sections. The Tour of Homewood is there to showcase the wonderful scenery, passionate people and coastal bliss of the Garden Route’s capital to the world. 2016 is going to be special.
2016 Entries
Such has been the feedback and requests that we are opening on Monday, 14 December. Similar to last year, the entries will consist of a non-accommodation package and for those requiring being pampered that little bit extra, Fancourt is offering their luxury hotel for the weekend. They have even gone so far as to throwing in a complimentary night for those staying for 3.
Even riders not staying at Fancourt will have exclusive access to the estate for showers, swimming or just plain relaxing, with a complimentary round of golf on Saturday that includes clubs and a cart – something not to be missed!
So be prepared this coming Monday, entries are limited.
